Wilmington NC Marinas

All-

Looking to the future (a year due to my current lease) moving the boat to Wilmington NC area. Not a trawler capital, more a Carver, Sea Ray, and Grady White capital. Anyone have any experience they can relate from Surf City to Southport with marinas?

In particular -

1. Culture of the marina - trawlers, sailors, go-fasts, laid-back, obsequious, complacent, etc

2. Hurricane protection. Hurricane policy. Support and practices.

3. Community - liveaboards, weekenders, do they have social outings etc.

4. Close by supplies, food, hardware, restaurants

5. Traffic to get there (by land)

Looking ahead and planning ahead...

Thanks.
