Robust fresh water pumps

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.

Many marinas prohibit direct connection to dock water. Note: You can sink your boat with a direct connection if left unattended. In my experience most pumps fail at the pressure switch. The motors last a long time. I quit buying Jabsco. I have had good luck with Seaflow and they are cheaper. Buy on Amazon.

"In my experience most pumps fail at the pressure switch."

Yes. This seems to be the experience for a half century.

The simple PE (preventive engineering) is a common under $20.00 house well pump. off / on switch with a bit lower cut in / cut out than the installed boat/RV pump.

The DC pressure switches on a liveaboard is lucky if it lasts a year. The house sourced seems to last 10x as long.

Our backup to the backup if the 24v vetus dies is to go 240v.

This pump is being used by several full timers I know with great success.
heavy, robust and cheap and with built in accumulator tank.

Something to bear in mind

That headhunter pump that is suggested by some draws 9amp @ 110v and 4 @ 240v
For us using 240v and 24v battery system that equates to 44.16 amps
Same applies to 110v using 44.5 amps

The pump I suggested uses 2.5 amps or 27.6 amps @ 24v
And it's $1200+ more affordable.
In and running now.
