We went out for a beautiful ride on the river today with some friends from our club. They have a 30', single engine boat and wanted to see what it was like to be on the water in a flybridge boat.
We pulled out of the slip at noonish on an 80* day with light winds and a few very high clouds. We decided to cruise downriver to an area we don't often go to.
Here's what the scenery looks like. The cliffs are a result of the massive floods that went through this area thousands of years ago. They're on both sides of the river and run for about 10 miles along the river.
Here are two shots of the north side of the river.

The two knobs that stick up on the right side of this shot are called the Twin Sisters. Go Figure.
Here are some shots of the two that went out with us and my wife. Everyone had a chance to drive at hull speed and again when we ran on plane. Meet Lee and Terri, and my Admiral in the background....
The two bridges in this photo are just outside our marina. The suspension bridge is right at the downstream end of the marina and the railroad bridge about 1/4 mile downstream from that. They are very good about raising the bridge for us when we need to pass through.
Here's a better shot of the south half of the suspension bridge. Now, if you take a small mirror and position it just right you'll be able to see what the entire bridge looks like.
Our trip lasted about 4 hours and it was just a great day to be on the water.
