RIB SEAT Structural?

I am curious if the seat in my West Marine 275 RIB double aluminum floor(9’) dinghy is a structural requirement. It is removable but possibly just for storage?
Thank you

I would guess that if it is removable then it isn’t structural. But that is a guess.

Thanks for the insight Comodave. W Westman, As far as calling West Marine my experience with hem is that they know less about the products they sell than the people they sell them to.

The reason I say I don’t think it is structural is that if it is removable you would be able to run the boat without it installed even if it was supposed to be installed. Mine just slides in and out of the brackets so it really isn’t attached to strongly so therefore not structural. At least that is what I am thinking...
