RCL Booking Alaska Cruises in April

It looks like Royal Carribean is booking for one of its Ships, Quantum of the Seas, for Alaska departures in April.

Does the rule that prohibits going from US port to US port also prohibit returning to the same port ( ie: cruise to nowhere ) ?

Plenty of cruise ships go to multiple US ports in one trip. Depends on whether they are a US flagged ship or not. Applies to airplanes too. See "cabotage" rules.

I'm starting to question the accuracy of my original post. I got the information from a Newsweek article ( link below ) but most other articles said they were only starting in the Caribbean in June. Aparently there is a social media movement to boycott RCL because of their vaccination requirement.

We've been trying to book a cruise, any mainstream, regular cruise out of any Florida port through April, nothing listed on any of the travel sites.

Yes.

Personally, I will never go on another Royal Carribean cruise. Prior to the start of the pandemic, we had booked back to back cruises leaving from Florida. The pandemic hit and they refused to refund any of our 2 deposits (even though they cancelled the cruises). They would only give us a partial credit for a potential "future" cruise. We had even tried to cancel (due to Covid) well over 8 months before the cruise dates (and within 3 months of booking).
I advise anyone considering booking with them to make sure you understand their "policies" (in this case they didn't even completely follow that) prior to giving them your "hard earned" money.
That is saying nothing about any concerns with the ongoing pandemic and the spread of and development of new variants that might be vaccine resistant. Make sure you understand and are OK with those risks.
