Overhead life preserver stowage

Now that I have replaced the PH overhead with mucho camber , there is enough room to hold a couple of dozed inshore life preservers there.

A Net with shock cord seems to be a std , but anyone have other ideas ??

Its very rare but every once in a while (4th Fireworks ) we may have a mob on board.

Simple is a plus , easy to load/unload is a plus , low cost (no unobtanium) a requirement.

I'm assuming you mean other ideas for the overhead and not just general stowage.

How about a couple nice springy wooden slats with easy to trip latches?

Looks nicer than the net, buckles don't foul the net and when you need them all fast, hit the latches and all hit the floor fast. Fabric between them if less visual of the bight orange is desired.

The center console "T top" fishing crowd does that all the time. There are bags made for just such PFD storage. Here's one example:

While speed of life preserver access might be a consideration for some , the USN launch is Fire Retarding resin as well as having full foam flotation.

In other words knock a 4 ft SQ hole in the hull and it will still float.

Like most folks we carry the preservers to stray legal with the Armed Fed Marine Police (USCG) but dont expect to ever need them .

So far a shock cord motorcycle net or two ,or a 1/4 line lacing (with handy knife) seems to be the easiest.
