The Alaskan 68 we bought 2 months ago for liveaboard has two RIBs up on the fly. One 315 with a 15hp Yamaha and another CC 470 with 50hp Yamaha.

We worry about the weight up this high in rough seas or becoming more rolly on anchor. Plus the boat is slightly leaning to one side at rest because of the 315.

There is no space at the aft platform to put the smaller one on, we do like the seaworthy short end of the hull and having the platform for whatever activities.

The single advantage we figured out is that we will be able to beach the 315' for example in the Caribbean. Plus family members might use it when on board.

Shall we keep both?
Any consideration therefore?

Tony Fleming carried two, a larger one and a smaller one with a flat bottom to easily pull up on the shore.

The only time we have wanted a "lighter" tender is if going ashore at a beach, our current tender is not an easily dragged up thing.

I contemplated getting one, but cost of that and crane on fordeck and then a pita to launch vs davits put an end to that thought.

It was then I found these or one similar.
But we use a REAL anchor to hold dinghy out and a smaller version for the beach
They stretch well, if used correctly tender ends up well back from the break.
