As all to date agree, Hakai Magazine is a wonderful publication.

Firmly tongue in cheek, I expect to see the thiamine issue appear in the ever-evolving Qanon narrative in the near future. The stuff's probably being sucked up into the atmosphere via reflected light from lasers beamed by aliens from space to start California wildfires. Sigh....
