I would think it's more like a bed liner product that they applied to the deck as opposed to a paint.
 
Leaking on the Forrestal you say! I find that hard to believe, then again, put a few 12 volt sumps in that will take care of it. Just don't get the government involved. 2 mil on a site survey, 1mil on a contract write up, 1 mil to award with govt requirements, and a 250k contract award. Just to keep another "war veteran" afloat so that the city can charge you another 20 bucks to visit.
Sure glad my visit was paid by the taxpayers while on active duty!
 
Carrier decks are painted with an epoxy coating , that has big!! hunks of flint mixed in as no skid.
 
We were aboard the Hornet for big wedding several yrs ago. Hell of a ship!
