NOAA Changes Depths on Raster Charts

Wow. The first nail in the coffin of raster charts?

I know ENC's are "better" by most measures. I'm just used to seeing the old format.

Also, there's a ton of information on raster charts that was never digitized. Particularly place names and shoreside structures. If you need to make a distress call, it's really handy to know what's around you, and to know the geographic names of nearby islands, hills, rivers, villages, etc.
 
Hmmmm...

Project depth doesn't seem all that useful to me if actual depth is different... especially if actually shallower...

Interesting! In Coastal Explorer, I swap back and forth between NOAA Raster and ENCs.
