This is pretty wild if you ask me!

Next time a few holes in the mid ship or rudder.
Remember that how the Bismarck was attacked. A torpedo disabled the rudder so it could only go in circles.

Doesn't bother anyone that a patrol boat tried to ram a passenger liner?

Though it ended well....

Here's another version with a map. Who knows what the patrol boat was doing. The captain has to explain to Maduro, in a way that doesn't kill him, why the patrol boat is no more.

Is it Venezuela isn’t already suffering from enough poor decisions. And the Navy ship, built in 2009, must’ve been one of their very best.

Yes it is troubling.

From what the article said, the cruise ship was 13 nautical miles off shore. That mean it was in international waters.

Given the state of Venezuelan these days, I would say this was an act of piracy on the part of the Venezuelan Navy. I wonder how many Cruiser have been boarded by the Venezuelan Navy just to shake them down for some cash?

Cheers.

Thanks for the post Lepke.

You are right. I'm betting the Captain is shaking in his boots. The Venezuelan Navy does not have many ships to begin with!

Cheers.

That is the way to do it. However I am thinking they did not what to sink her. I am thinking they wanted cash from the Cruise Line.

Cheers

That was my first thought. Has law and order broken down to that extent in Venezuela now? Wow. Another Somalia, only this time with 259-foot naval vessels as the pirates?

Absolutely!

Glad no one was killed AND that the crew on the cruise ship got to watch!

I followed the Venezuelan implosion closely. The country has a 97% poverty rate, major blackouts, food shortages and people trying to leave the county because they have no hope.

I am pretty sure the Venezuelan Government is not paying their sailors much of anything or nothing at all. Heck 3 hot’s and cot would be a good deal for them, given what is going on in the country.

I also can see a Captain trying to shake down a Cruise ship in the hopes of getting his crew a little cash and to stop them from trying a mutiny. Plus if the Captain did pull it off, it would mean most of the cash would go to the Government and he would be a hero in their eyes.

People will do crazy things when they have no hope!

Cheers.

The captain of the US Carrier who wrote a stinging letter. He wanted his crew off the carrier..... The navy first said, the captain would not suffer any retribution but later it was announced he lost the command of the carrier.

As if Venezuela doesn't have enough problems. Who in their right mind would force a cruise ship into their harbor with all the news about cruise ships carrying the Covid 19 virus?

Attention: Cruise ship carriers, if you want a place to port your ship, just cruise 13 miles off of the Venezuelan shore minding your own business . . . of course it may be 2 guys in a row boat wearing Costa Guarda uniforms with a loud hailer and a BB gun now that directs you to their port, as they are running of ships apparently . . .

Otherwise known as the “theory of duh” in Miami, which has a huge population (especially in Doral) of Venezuelans. They stole everyone’s businesses on land, and have been going out on the high seas committing piracy for decades. You’re not ever going to hear about it here in America because they leave no witnesses. So how do I know, you ask? Because the guys that actually did it, get up here as quick as they can afford it. Trump isn’t lying when he says they’re also smuggling drugs for the Colombians.
