mounting rod holder/pot pullers np45

I am wondering about mounting rod holders to the gunnel of our boat. On either side we have a door and i don't see a way of getting any backing plate. Has anyone seen these mounted on a north pacific np45?

This is the mounting system I use for my Scotty downriggers. A pad is hard-mounted on a vertical surface and the right-angle mount attaches to it when you're fishing, removed when not. This system has worked well for me.

I mounted a stainless steel plate to enlarge my round stern, it also counter balances the anchor windlass and anchoring equipment. It's 1/2" and I drilled and tapped it for the swiveling base, it mounts two Scotty down rigger pivoting bases.

There is a very good heavy duty rod mount for salt water tackle available, and it also mounts the down rigger or a Brutus line hauler for pulling pots.
