From my experience very few sail boats have a vhf in the cockpit, never mind one turned on below which cannot be heard over the rushing wind.

Want some entertainment lisen and watch WG in action. Does not Canadian sailing vessels have charts? MFD?

Most of the time it's sail boats and their refusal to go around WG. In some cases being escorted out of the area. So what's up with this? It's not like these folks don't know about WG.

It's funny to see a 28ft blow boat challenging the Canadian Navy.

Not defending sailboats, but I could argue against this common powerboat pejorative, all weekend; starting with how much time do you spend hanging around in radio range of WG? Six hours in the last 3-4 years?

And why disparage only Canadian sailboaters?

Unless some kind of schooling or local knowledge is in the mix, very few boaters of any ilk, are aware of WG and what goes on there.

Dumb, naïve, inexperienced and uneducated is not limited to sailboats. How about the power boater who managed to get a 30A plug into a 50A outlet?

How about the two power boats in one week which grounded on fully charted shoals in Prevost Harbor?

Actually you can hear the WG guys ar quite a distance. There maybe a power boat or two that violate the area, but not often. Mostly sail boats.

On one occasion WG told the offending boat to change course to a heading of north. The sail boat came back and asked which way was north!!

No.

I said that no sarcastically. In actual fact, I became the guardian of charts from my neighbours across the street as they had given up sailing. I have so many now I'm not sure where I can put them on my boat.

I'm still waiting for why Canadian boaters got the focus here, because that is a different perspective from what many Canadians have.

Canadians are gentle, respectful, considerate and some say, sweet. If fact, Canadians are so very wonderful, I think everyone should own one. :hide:

Dan,
I stand to be corrected but I think you are one yank that can get away unscathed with that comment.

I will say in all honesty, though I worked in northern Canada, I never saw a Canadian lose their temper.
