Mr. hf. There is no mention of the vintage of this or other "mines" (2 others mentioned in a linked article). Might they be WWII?

I really do not know if the are from the WW-2. Another story I read, talked about "Training Mines the Navy used." However they did not say which years the Navy was using the training mines.

In fact all the stories I have seen about these mines, are pretty incomplete as far as information goes on the mines.

They could be from WW-2 but if you really look at it, the design of the water mines have not changed that much over the years. A ball with spikes on it with a chain to hold it in place. So who knows. LOL
