I know there is a solution to the crap paint we are forced to use now, I just hope this works and soon! You fibreglass guys can be smug with your copper paint but tin boaters like me are stuck with Trilux 2 which is hardly better than wall paint.

I've often wondered if you tin men could apply copper as a second and third coat?

You can if you paint on an epoxy barrier coat but life is too short and the money's too much. Besides, if there were a breach in the barrier coat, the results could be exciting.

Slightly off track, but there was an aluminum fishboat in Campbell River which passers-by were amused to see bubbles rising up all around its water line. Seems there was an electrical leak from his next door neighbour and this boat was almost a total loss as his hull plating disappeared.

I'm too paranoid to use copper...
