I am looking to purchase a 42' Grand Banks that has a wooden cradle on the raised aft deck, starboard side (think I got that right?). Question: Will the boat run correctly with say 800 pounds additional weight on the starboard side? I am hoping to use the Jet Ski in lieu of a dingy? Plans are to run the boat sparingly between moorings.

Question is how comfortable will you be getting it up and down?

The center of gravity is definitely raised and I would keep an eye on the number of people on the bridge in a seaway.....

I would think carefully about lifting that much weight with the mast and boom. My GB is 46' and my Whaler weighs about 700 pounds. I lift it with an electric crane and the boat lists as I lift it. Once it's in its cradle the list is gone, however it sits across the boat deck, not on one side as it would on a 42.
