Island Pilot

I want to say that I have no interest in owning an Island Pilot. I own a 7 knot Pilrgim 40 and am perfectly satisfied. I had actually never heard of one until a neighbor of mine expressed interest in one. It is marketed as a…… are you ready for this…..a “Crossover Trawler”. I looked at it and it looks like a hybrid sport fish. I am not sure where the trawler part comes in, it is sure not in the 28 knot top speed. I am doing research for my neighbor and just wonder if the group has seen one or know the reputation of the builder and drive systems.

There are three different power options, depending on how fast one wants to go, leastwise with the 310 model.
