Interesting boats

Interesting. The photos show the interior and instruments to be from an era
earlier than 2000 though. I wonder what's up there?

I suspect the owner suffered from the same 'instrumental disease' I have.....
I started with a bunch of combined read outs by mercury multi function instrumentation and decided to separate the read outs.... I built a 'wing' at the helm to mount all the separate instruments. I opted to keep the mercury multi function read out to get those 'still desired but missing' read outs
In this owner's case, the owner 'cobbled' together various manufactures to display his desired information.

They seem to carry that "Russian" design flair! LOL

@Adopo, I love that commercial tug look. Lowers your theft-profile as well when sitting in less developed areas, compared to fancy pretty yachts.

Maybe he and the guy with the 70’ motor sailer in Baltimore should get together. They can cry on each other’s shoulders while figuring out how to get their boats sold.

At $20,000 that's gotta be close to scrap value. But I can see someone ambitious and crazy enough to make it livable and power its way up to Alaska.

Probably not practical for many reasons, but it would be sweet if this forum could do a go fund me to buy that boat for the member here who had to abandon his boat in Russia. Similar style of boat, and scale of project.

A nice Lord Nelson Victory Tug heading up the Waccamaw river this morning. Actually there are 2 (mirror image in the water).

Nice Wooden Halvorsen

This 1952 Halvorsen 30 looks sympathetically maintained, with some upgrades. The Broker Andrew Storey is a Shipwright who does a little broking as well, he sold my last boat and has done work on it and my current boat. Not cheap but generally competent. It`s a pretty boat for a Halvorsen admirer. Quite likely Andrew did some of the work that`s listed.

Beautiful piece of art to have and maintain. Thanks for sharing!

First splashed just 8 months past my birth.

Love the 3/5th transom width retractable swim step. And, by looking at the photos... especially when I hit the one showing engine compartment, a rush of late 1950's, throughout the 60's and into early 70's... decades ago really nice wood boat odors came flooding back into my olfactory memory banks.

Cheers! - Art :speed boat:

You can have it. It's a wooden hull and perhaps in a trust for preservation ..... Could be, you buy and maintain but cant sell it without the permission of the trust.

The hull is steel, and the boat (ship) has been recommended for listing on the National Register of Historic Places, which presumably means the new owner has the option to not proceed with it.

Of course it's a pure fantasy. The cost of maintaining a 90 year old steel ship would bankrupt anyone who doesn't have Silicon Valley money.

Nick, after reading about it, you are correct. Riveted steel hull.
