It's amazing that these guys transit the Rock Pile at 2-3am.

I did have a head on encounter with a similar barge at the South Island ferry crossing (just south of Georgetown). A serious pucker factor! KJ

Probably so, heading for the bone yard. They look like they're already partially stripped out.

Hard to tell from the pictures with the shadows, but according to my neighbor, Mr. Army Reserve, "They might be old M113 APC’s. If so, they've been around a long time. Came out during Vietnam and are still in service in some units. They had aluminum armor which would give them substantial scrap value."

Many of the old out of service tanks are now Fishing reefs, as are old Railroad cars etc. They are stripped of toxins, petroleum products and other Hazards.
