How often do you need your lower helm?

I know someone who has been boating for forty years. He only had a fly bridge on his last boat. His new to him boat has s lower and upper helms!

We only use the flybridge helm because we bought a boat without a lower helm deliberately.

Same here...We have a small dinette where a down helm would be and use it 98% of the time.

I didn’t want to give up the room in the salon. We put a hardtop with a full enclosure on the bridge so we are out of the weather and have the great view and line of sight.
