Yesterday, about 12:30 p.m. while we were approaching the reserve fleet in Suisun Bay, we received a call on channel 16, and we responded. It went something like this:
"FlyWright calling Carquinez Coot."
"This is Carquinez Coot."
"Switch to channel 69."
"Coot switching to 69."
"How about rafting on my port side. The barbecue is on starboard."
"Coot will raft on your port side."
We had no idea FlyWright was in the area. We were fortunate to be recognizable.
Al was "high" after catching a near-maximum-length-keepable sturgeon fish not long before we came into view.
Al graciously cut us a one-pound fillet.
We left FlyWright after a half-hour visit to return to home port (Vallejo) in anticipation of an upcoming storm.
