Great Bridge Bridge Hit By Lightning - Closures!

35,000 vehicles use this bridge a day! And it is a key part of the AICW south of Norfolk.

Opening just twice a day for boats - 6am and 6pm.

What a mess this is going to be!

Good news is..... I doubt boats are heading south yet because of the hurricane. Boats heading north...ouch....hopefully not too many going that far north.

Hope they can get it fixed jn a week or two.

Probably be a lot more traffic through the Dismal Swamp canal as a result.

I'm tired of fast moves, I've got a slow groove, on my mind.....
I want to spend some time, Not come and go in a heated rush.....

Not good timing. Need Conan the Barbarian on the hand wheel.
What if Florence does stall then change direction further north? Bad luck.
