I was thinking of some of the better ideas that builders incorporated into their boats I've been on or owned. Some of these you don't appreciate at first like the OA had all it wiring pulled into a central distribution panel separate the breaker panel. The distribution panel had all AC and DC wiring clearly marked and labeled this made tracing wiring easy-peasy. All outside fresh water piping was done in copper with valves for draining in the winter.

Another boat was a Lindell that had propane plumbed from the central tank into the cockpit with a recessed quick disconnect for BBQs or crab cookers. The hydraulics were also plumbed into the cockpit with self sealing quick disconnects for the removable pot puller. The same boat had a hinged fish box built into the lazerette so when you opened the hatch to the lazerette the fish box was there and hinged so you had to "open" the fish box. it also had a 2 inch drain to a macerator pump. This fish box was probably 2' x 4'.
