Galveston area boatyards?

Well I was on the way to Florida but I've got some vibration and need to find a place to haulout.

Any recommendations? Looking for the best place not necessarily the cheapest. I don't know enough so I need a good yard manager to take care of me.

I got a recommendation of a guy in Clear Lake but he hasn't called back. If I can't nail down a good place I guess I'll just go back home and regroup.

We used South Texas Yacht Services at Watergate Marina for multiple task when commisioning HEY JUDE after her transport from Lake Travis & were pleased with their one stop yard vs Clear Lake's 100s of specialized subs that require the boat owner to schedule & oversee each sub.

Another vote for South Texas Yacht Service at Watergate Yachting Center. Mark, John and crew have always done a good job on my boats. For prop work, ask them to use Baumann Propellers in Houston, they pick up and deliver to the yard.

If you do chose Seabrook Marina Repair Yard, I can recommend OJ's Marine whose offices are in the facility. O.J. handled a tricky rudder repair on one of my boats an saved me a bundle.

Thanks all.

After getting back to Offatts yesterday and looking at things, I noticed my transmission rear seal at the output shaft is leaking now. I had to add about 1/2 quart of oil after about 10 hours of running. I added some the day before but didn't see a leak.

I've decided to limp back to Rockport, fix everything there while close to home, and try the trip again later.
