OK, I'll stop complaining about my commute!

Not sure which is more important (harder job) boat driver or winch operator...

No wonder those guys stay there for a week at a time! No thanks!

I am all for simplicity and a little bravado but this **** is just careless. They need life jackets, everyone in the crew. I am really surprised the French boys have the cahoonas for this type of behavior. MAN AM I GONNA GET IT FOR THIS POST!:nonono:

My wife wonders what the turnover rate is for keepers at that lighthouse?

This lighthouse went fully automated in 2004.

Makes one wonder how long the lighthouse has been there, and how much more difficult it was to do the switch without the latest boat, engine, line, and reliability tech. Crazy and admirable.

Interested in tending a lighthouse? There's a current job opening at the East Brother Light Station in SF Bay for employment starting September 2014. It would be an interesting experience, but hard work with all the duties associated with running the Bed and Breakfast.
