A day on the flybridge is like a day at the beach except you don't end up with sand in your shorts.

PS: IMHO - Flying Bridges Rule!

PSS: Mark - 1/2" thick wheelhouse/cabin top steel... really... think about it!

I doubt they put that much steel in the keel. If it's over 4mm I would be surprised.
Superstructure 4 mm, decks 5mm, garboard plank 6 mm, keel sides 8 mm, keel and rudder skeg 12 mm.

And not to disappoint ...

Right... Let's not ever miss an opportunity for Mark to post yet another picture of Coot.

Since when has Mark needed an "opportunity" to post pictures?

The distance between the top and bottom of the pilothouse roof edge (in my previous photo) is a lot thicker than 11/64 inches.

Did you forget the picture of a caliper?

You won the Gratuitous Photo Award a long time ago. You can rest on your laurels for a while, 99 percent of the pictures cannot be described as photo-journalism and most are not even contextual.

What do I know? The Coot's builder told me today the pilothouse roof is made of cored fiberglass. And here I thought the boat's exterior was all steel.

Mark

It's your love for and your enjoyment with the high quality, well built Coot that counts. Till you see build-out specs or pick the builder's mind (like you just did) it's near impossible to really know what construction practices or materials were used in some of the different portions of any boat's parts. Looks can be deceiving. I still run into parts and parcels on our Tolly where I say... Really, so that's what they did?? Hadn’t realized that before!

Sail On, Mark - - > Sail ON! - Art

PS: Keep the picts coming!!

The Coot has more steel in it than an Iowa Class. Of course the way you guys shoot at Mark he needs it. Damn the torpedoes full speed ahead. (Adm. Farragut in Mobile Bay) Sail on Mark, and keep posting pictures.

I'll post one of my favorites for you.
