Gluing material to a wall, what glues work?

I am replacing the OEM wallpaper in my main companionway.

I could use wallpaper, or i could use a roll of very high quality upholstery vinyl that i happen to have on hand.

What glues have been used successfully for this?

What I am looking for hopefully is something that I only have to apply on one side if possible. The reason is that laying out large pieces to apply glue is really difficult on a boat.

Thanks!

I've used this:

https://www.sailrite.com/3M-08090-Su...waArBtEALw_wcB

However, the marine vinyl material I was using was for a headliner in a stateroom and it was foam backed. It worked very well. I took some 1" 3-strand 'jute' whipped the ends to give it a finished marine look, then glued and finish nailed the jute to where the vinyl headliner met the bulkhead to trim it out and give it a finished look. We think it came out nice.

I tried the Supertrim Adhesive from 3M but it failed after a few weeks. Some of it cured some of it did not. I suspect several of the cans where either old or inconsistent. In addition some of it came through the vinyl slightly so that it was seen.

I switched to HH-66 vinyl cement, also available at Sailrite and also Amazon. It has held up fine and is much superior to the Supertrim Adhesive. It can also be thinned and possibly be sprayed, although I rolled it on to redo the failed portions of the headliner. I documented our attempts in a video below. I will add a second short video showing the before and after. Of all the upgrades to the boat doing this one really had the most profound affect. Most likely because it just covers so much area that is visible. Time consuming project but IMO well worth it.
