Catching you up on our experiences with our first power boat (pocket cruiser). We finally got everything up and running. The Head only needed a motor for the Vacuum pump and the water heater needed a new element, so for about $150 we got everything running. YAAAAAAA

Last week Tuesday, we decided to try Percy Priest Lake, so we put in Nashville Shores Marina. The lake was much cleaner and clearer that Old Hickory, so we were able get the boat up to speed. We went from one end of the lake to the other. Then we decided that we were going to spend the night out on the water, so we practiced anchoring a couple of times. Right before sunset, we were in Suggs Creek, going around another boat with swimmers in the water, when we hit something. We were in 10ft of water at the time. It seems we hit a tree. Percy Priest is a reservoir, so there is a whole town under water. It bent the props but didn't do any other damage. Thank God. Anchored for the night, cooked dinner and watched some TV. It was a very hot day. Didn't cool down until about 1am.

In the morning we headed back to the marina. Mack noticed the steering was off, but the props did ok. When we took the boat out of the water the front prop was bent, the back prop was nicked. Its a mercruiser B3. No hull damage. Thank the Lord!!!!!

Called Progressive and filed a claim. It is going to cost $4000 to replace the lower housing and fix the props. The mechanic showed me the lower housing of several engines they had to fix. These guys were going 70 when they hit something....the skag was completely gone!!!! All these bass boats going 90 all over the place.

Once we get the boat fixed we are planning a trip Virginia - James River and Chesapeake Bay to visit my brother in law and my step brother. Looking forward to the experience. Hopefully we will be fixed and in the water by the middle of August.
