Cross the lake or go around?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.

Another option is keep going past Clewiston and overnight at the municipal docks in Moore Haven (just west of Moore Haven lock). Great steaks and burgers at Anglers Reef, a short walk.

I love the Moore Haven city dock dock as well as the free dock in LaBelle.

My normal course west to east is from Cabbage Key to Moore Haven and then to Stuart the next morning.

From east to west I try to make Moore Haven with Roland Martin as a back up if I get stuck with the locks.

Looks like the lake has come up more than 1 foot since I first posted.

If the free dock in Labelle is full or if your boat is too large to fit in the short piers there, consider anchoring directly across the river on the west side of the bridge. You will find 25 of water just fifty feet from the shorline and the gentle current will keep the boat oriented parallel to the shoreline.
