Gee Adam.* You removed much of the charm and effective ways to load/launch the dinghy and spot dangerous shoals.*

RE: crazy aussie thinking of buying a steel trawler in adelaide

It was a tough decision but it didn't fit in with my grand plan and also trying to get rid of the weight up high.
The bottom floor is getting extended to about 3 quarters of the back deck and above that will be a shade/ Bimini coming out from the wheelhouse with the dinghy at the back. Long term plan so don't expect photos of the finished product anytime soon.

Adam,
Know them well.
Worked on one up here in Mooloolaba with a mate of mine long lining. It eventualy sunk in the Bris River due to lack of attention.
A bloody big boat built like a brick s..t house.
a VG platform to start with. and the end result could be excellent. You have plenty on board to start with and with that progress can be made slowly.
Keep the info comming as you progress, now that I am home I can get back to my own boat in Tin Can Bay and do the engine transplant.
