Cooley's Landing or New River Downtown Dock

I will be in Ft. Lauderdale next weekend and have a reservation at Cooley's Landing. I was wondering if the Downtown Docks or Cooley's are more enjoyable. Anyone have an opinion on the pros and cons?

We've stayed on the New River tied to side of the river. Power and water but nothing else. If you need laundry or shower/toilet facilities, go to Cooley's Landing. I think staying on the river allows you access to the facilities at Cooley's Landing but it's quite a hike.
