Krogen Express Colours

I'm trying to do a colour match on a Krogen Express and was wondering if anybody happens to have a paint code or colour name for the shade shown in the attached photo? Guessing it's Awlgrip and seems quite a popular choice for this boat.

Thanks

Have you tried these resources?
Might even find the boat in the pic.

I'd guess it's Awlgrip 'Ocean Blue'.

I'd call Kady Krogen in Stuart, Florida. I'm not sure of the color but the paint is Alwrgip's, Alwcraft 2000 and according to KK the Express is painted locally.

What's the connection between Kady Krogan and Krogan Express?
They seem to be two different companies.

I think your right Parks. I had no idea. I found this, where else, on the internet.

A Different Breed of Krogen
Most boaters will recognize the Krogen name and might
associate it with the seaworthy full-displacement trawlers
that roam the globe bearing the Kadey-Krogen nameplate.
But while the Krogen Express 52 can trace its DNA to the
Krogen family (father and son James and Kurt Krogen were
instrumental in the development of its predecessor, the 49
Express), it was avid boaters John and Betsie Tegtmeyer
who became the driving force behind the 52.
As former Kadey-Krogen trawler owners, the
Tegtmeyers were fans of Krogen designs, and when the
urge to own a faster boat struck, they were drawn to
the 49-foot Krogen Express. Attraction morphed into
association, and the couple acquired the rights to manufacture
the Express.
An ambitious retooling and upgrade process was completed
in 2002, and one of the Far East’s most prestigious
yards began to build a limited number of what is now the
Krogen Express 52. The Tegtmeyers’ goal in entering the
boatbuilding business was not to become a major force in
the cruising market, but rather to develop a lean, handson
business model that would allow them to maintain
personal contact with their customers.
When each Krogen Express reaches the United States,
John and his team take personal delivery and oversee final
details of commissioning and delivery to the owner. As
their customers can attest, this personal approach has created

a very satisfied family of owners. krogenexpress.com

Yes, they are completely different companies with nothing in common except a hull (both very different) designed by a guy named Krogen.

Thanks Larry. That explains it.

I'm going to meet John Tegtmeyer on Tuesday when I take a couple of Vulcan anchors for him to try on his show boat. Stainless anchors of course.

I'm looking forward to getting a tour of the boat. They really appeal to me.

They do look good. I wonder if Krogen decided to get out of the "go-fast" trawler market and go with their success?

As I understand it, there was no "getting out" since Kady Krogen was never in the go-fast business. There has never been any connection between the companies or boats, much to the distress of KK who have to deal with the confusion all the time. And Krogen Express benefits for the name since, as we are seeing in this discussion, everyone assumes they are related and that the Express has the same long and strong reputation as KK.

As the blurb posted earlier states, the only connection is that KK's were designed by father-Krogen where the Express was designed by son-Krogen. It's not unlike boats designed by Sparkmen-Stephens. There is nothing to compare other than the guy who drew the lines on paper.

The current owners of Krogen Express bought the assets when the company went under a few years ago. I don't think there are more than about a dozen of them in existence.

I'm a huge fan of the Krogen Express line. The 52 is my mega millions dream boat. I always get a little worried when I go their website. Nothing has changed in a long time. I keep expecting to hear that they've gone out of business. I knew that they were a separate company from KK, but I didn't realize how small an operation it was.

Dave, the Krogan Express I'm delivering the anchor is being prepared for showing at the Palm Beach Boat show.
