Can anyone ID this compass. I can’t find anything to identify it. The illuminator wires have broken from the illuminator and I would like to fix it.

It looks like the wires need to be soldered onto the bulb. An electronics shop can handle that. Maybe upgrade to a red led at the same time.

Greetings,
Mr. BD. As well as upgrading to a red LED, as suggested, make sure the wires going to the LED are twisted.

The twisting eliminates magnetic interference.

Thanks for the advice. I didn’t realize the thing cane apart. In fortunately the wire has what we always called Black Wire Disease. Won’t age any solder I need to get some 18 or 22 gauge wire to continue the project.
Does anyone recognize the manufacturer of the compass?

Keep your post up for a few more days by even just putting a ?? in the reply box to keep it active. Someone might recognize your unit. Sorry, but I'm no help.

You might look up a marine compass repair shop and send a photo and ask them. Maybe some of them have seen it or similar.
Yellow pages locally and Google.

There are many other compass mfgrs. beside the ones we see in N.A.

Thank you for the tips!

Whoaaaaaaa........Sestrel Moore ....British.... and we're talking that compass being the top of the line shnitz for small craft growing up in the 60's sailing in Holland.... My dad always wanted one but couldn't get himself to spend the money. That's a collectors item, sells for $400-600 in the UK
