Like any virtual community, on occasion a little sharp tongue bordering on mean spiritedness will sneak in here sending me temporarily into hibernation.

But...I think it is worth noting publicly that in the recent stretch there has been an inspiring outbreak of particularly collegial, generous, and really smart contributions by a number of folks to a number of threads to include the Seahorse thread, a couple of snubber threads, the jellyfish thread to name a few. To get the benefit of such a wealth of intellect, experience and the generosity of sharing it displayed here lately is a gift indeed.

Thanks for that...

BTW, what's the story behind your member name?

In the First Nations people of Ucluelet. It means "Laughing One"

I've fished out of Ucluelet a few times. Beautiful area.

Yes, as above. We inherited the name with the boat we bought six years ago and we liked the name and it’s derivation. We kept it for that boat and used it for a screen name when we joined here.

Similar experience on most of the Boards I belong to.

I wonder if the absolute incivility of social media sites, has given everyone pause to consider "I will not be associated with that..." a contrast that did not exist prior to the petulant arrival?

Good grief, is that a compliment for social media???

It is very civil, isn't it.

As long as you don't go down into the basement.
