What does your home port look like from a distance, as you are heading back in?

This is Kitimat, BC, Canada, on an idilic spring day.

To be honest, I cropped out the aluminum smelter at waters edge and the town of Kitimat that was built 5Km from the water to the left. The photo shows MK Bay Marina to the left and the Haisla First Nations community of Kitamaat in the centre.

Passing the flamingos and mangroves heading back to the port of Al Khor. Qatar for the most part may be an ugly desert, but if you look carefully you can find beauty.

If you fast forward to 2:45 our home dock is straight ahead after you pass through the lock. :)

Was a nuclear power plant feeding the power hungry smelter cropped out too? Why not post the real pic of your home port. It`s what your thread is about.

Our home dock is just to the left here, in the city centre. Deckhand giving directions.

Hydroelectric powered smelter.

MK Bay Marina, where Badger's berth is, is in the photo :thumb:

No need to be offensive, though maybe that`s really you, unedited.
Be brave, post an unedited pic. Is it really so bad you can`t?

Passive aggressive and now baiting? Nice...

Here you go Bruce

Taken from 'the viewpoint' in Kitimat. MK Bay Marina and Kitamaat hidden behind point on the left, aluminum smelter (hidden by trees) on the right. Happy now? :D

How did the sand get blown over all those trees?

Here’s a few from Biloxi Mississippi

We just see the tree line and homes and then the channel markers into our well protected marina.

That's snow...not a huge cocaine shipment that fell from some cargo plane mishap but the atmospheric rain turned crystalline because of freezing temperatures snow, you know, like frost in a freezer  :whistling:

I like snow! Seasons are great!!

The Aussies had best not pick fights with the Canadians re: ecology of power generation.

Who'd have thought this one would be heading for The Deep End! :D :hide:

Had to go back a ways to find a photo showing the head of Douglas Channel. Rainbow obviously pointing towards more photogenic east side...rainbows end squarely above marina :D

Here is my marina, just off the GICW in Houma, Louisiana. One of the resident gators is keeping an eye on the boat for me.

Nice....is it a 30 second walk to your boat? Bet you don’t dangle your feet off the swim step to cool off, do you? :D

That is one very fine looking trawler!

Too bad, I don't live there. Most of the residents don't have boats so some rent out their slip. Actually it is about a 40 min. drive from my house.
