Hi there,

I have a 1984 CHB 34 double cabin with a leaking rear teak sliding door. The door is in otherwise great shape but I cant tell where the leak is and before I tear it apart, I am hoping for a few tips on removal, what the recommended product for resealing is etc. The door has a custom canvas cover for just the door itself but it is still leaking- i think from the door track.
Any tips for removing before I do surgery here.
Do you recommend using butyl tape on boats?

I have attached a photo.
Thanks in advance,
Ty.

Not familiar with your door but yes, I use butyl on the boat wherever I can get good compression on it. If it is through bolted then butyl for sure. If it is screwed down then maybe depending on what the screws are going into.
