Charleston For July 4th

We are thinking about running to St Simon's, then Hilton Head and then Charleston to be there for July 4th weekend.

I just looked at some of the Charleston web sites regarding weekend events and they all look to be still going on - with no mention of COVID 19 restrictions.

Anyone from the area care to give us a more current update on the status?

Things are changing so fast now that I would not even bet on the calendar advancing as per normal. Cities locally which earlier said the Fourth show will go on and cancelling left and right.

I know all of the fireworks displays have been canceled. Can’t say what else but things are being canceled left and right

South Carolina is one of the states that has high positive Covid test percentages, thus increasing cases, and a populace that is used to being noncompliant with prevention protocols. It's a fun boat ride up there, with lots of pretty semi-wilderness anchorages on the way.

You decide if you want to go ashore and mingle once you get there.

We just passed through SC and it looked just like it did last year, maybe even more people together partying. No masks and no distancing. They have made a choice and whatever happens will be be what they want for themselves. If it’s what you want too, then join them ashore and party on!
