GCICW at Colorado River

I am looking for information on the status of the Colorado River at the GCICW in Matagorda, TX. Does anyone know if recreational traffic is allowed to pass or have the locks been closed due to the flooding? Any information is appreciated.

It is always best to give the lockmaster a call...

LOCK CLOSURE

Dave

I just passed through those locks last weekend. Called the LM and he said locks were opened to recreation traffic all hours on weekends but were closed to rec traffic M-F from 7am-5pm because they were working on the locks.

He did say he would try to work a boat through if he could however. Didn't want to chance that so we timed it for the weekend.

The Colorado river was really rushing through there when we crossed and lots of debris in the water (and trees) so be careful.
