Carquinez Strait, Jan. 1, 2015

Cruised Carquinez Strait today. Fair amount of vegetation but also observed two trees and a large pole floating near the old railroad ferry terminal west of the Benicia marina. Ebb tide was about 3.5 knots, and swirling currents caused 45-degree course deviations. It's always interesting. While returning to Vallejo, a flotilla of two Nordic Tugs passed going eastward. One gave two quick toots, which were returned with the Kahlenbergs.
