Our boat is named Catalina Jack. Not catalina the sailboat. Catalina refers to the Navy PBY aircraft that was a flying boat used extensively in World War 2. My father was a waste gunner on a Black Cat in the South Pacific. His name was Jack.
I am 70 years old and I still miss him dearly. He died in 1974 at the age of 53. The boat is obviously named in his honor.
