They old Raymarine autopilot never worked and I'm about to purchase a new one.. Any recommendations???

Comnav??? Never heard of it.. Why do you like it??

My current boat is all Garmin however, my previous boat had a Simrad that served me well for over 12 years without any issues (the GPS was a Raymarine).

Comnav out of British Columbia have building APs for 30 years. They are well known for being reliable, track well, and simple to use. They are very popular on the West Coast amongst fishing vessels and recreational boats that ply the sometimes difficult waters. Decent support too.

Simrads provenance dates back 15 years or so to the venerable and well regarded Robertson AP line. Furuno, Garmin, and Raytheon entered the market around 2000 with a value proposition of integrated components form the same OEM. Makes sense if you're constrained by available real estate.

Said well by Weebles. Comnav is used by many commercial and fish boats in the PNW and Alaska. Solid, reliable and good support.
