Angry Anyone suggest ANTIFOULING for Gulf Waters

In 6/2016 Had our Mainship trawler hauled and painted with Petit Hydrocoat.
In 11/2016 it was rehauled and repainted with the same paint.
Now 15 months later the diver said our paint is exhausted.
Does anyone have the same experience with the Petit Hydrocoat bottom Paint.

Anyone have good results with a long lasting antifouling. Does a high copper content last longer, is it more effective?

thanks!

A high copper content does not necessarily mean a longer useful lifespan. Anti fouling paints are formulated to release biocide at an unalterable proscribed rate. However, more biocide does typically mean the paint will be more effective. Although even that is not written in stone as paint manufacturers are finding ways of making less copper work better.

As a rule of thumb, high copper hard paints (think: Pettit Trinidad) will provide good anti fouling performance longer than ablatives of any type (like your Pettit Hydrocoat.)

Have used Seahawk ablative with great success on prior woodenboat. Was recommended by the yard manager of Endeavor Catamarans as they use that on all their boats.
