Anyone Going To The Miami Boat Show Next Month?

We are arriving before lunch on Saturday. Going to the show Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Then leaving on a cruise Monday.

Staying in Coral Gables.

If there is interest maybe a meet and greet dinner on Saturday night?

I've been to the MIA boat show about half a dozen times. FWIW, the Miami Boat Show is not about cruising boats like usually discussed on TF. It is mostly the open fast multi-outboard boats that are popular in SFL, and fishing stuff. There will only be a few cruising style boats on display. Some accessories on display may be applicable to trawler type boats.

If I'm in town when it happens, I usually go. Mostly for something to do, not because I'm actually in the market for anything I would likely find there.

If you want cruising type boats you might want to go to the Miami Yacht Show. It is occurring at the same time, not that far away from the boat show.

IMO, the Palm Beach show is better for cruising type boats.

Thanks, I've been about a dozen times, and enjoy it. It's a pity they moved it to Virginia Key as the benefit of South Beach was access to the Collins Ave brokerage show. Plus, well, South Beach!

Yes, we'll both be going to the show. It's our second year and we're looking forward to it!

Wondering if they will allow boats to anchor in the race boat basin? Would like to come by boat.

There is actually an enormous floating dock system that uses a significant amount of the basin for Show Boats. I doubt anchoring in the basin proper would be allowed

In years past I have seen many boats anchored in the Bay off Rickenbacker, maybe dinghy to the Marina at the West end of the Show. Another option would be to anchor near a bus or shuttle boat site and dinghy in from there to catch a bus or shuttle boat.

Getting to the Show

Some of my crew will attend but Watfa is cooking for Ft Pierce and I’m getting the boat ready.

In years past the area near the marine stadium was off limits for boats as there is a lot of traffic for sea trials.

While dinner sounds great and I would love to meet you after reading your posts for years I don’t think we will have time as we are spending Sunday night on the boat and slowly (not as slow as Ted) meandering to Ft Pierce Monday.

Enjoy the show.
