As to the carbuncle comment, we have had similar feelings, especially in the Bahamas.

Ironically, a few years ago we were docked in Treasure Cay Marina (RIP) and there was a massive (75' plus) sportfish with two flats boats on deck on the T-dock a few spaces down from us. I was on deck washing down and drinking a beer while secretly lusting after it in a "if I only had money" sort of way when its captain came walking down the dock. He stopped by our boat and said "man, that is the perfect Bahamas boat. I sure wish I had one like it."

I laughed and said "are you kidding? Look at the boat you are on!" He harumphed and said "That thing? Too damn much work, too damn much fuel and you can't really get anywhere good in it."

You never know. We want what we don't have, I guess.
