Proud new owners
We’re proud new owners of this 44’ “shanty style” river boat . It’s a purpose built boat for cruising The Tennessee River. It has a 120 Ford Lehman in it with a barn door size rudder. We bought from original builder/owner. The sister ship is 50’ with a 6-71 Detroit and it’s 4 slips down from us.

Too cool, Mule.
I love character boats, especially when they are pupose built.
I Googled 'shanty style river boats" and there are some interesting ones for sure. One, immediately reminded me of the TV series Ozark.

Congratulations, looks very practical, and put mind of "houseboats" operating in our local cruising grounds.

House boats or River boats or however defined, they make an excellent choice for cruising the lakes and river. Don't limit to TN River. You have some great Cumberland cruising nearby. From your area on up the Kentucky River and through the Cumberland is the houseboat capital of the East. Yours is special though with the Lehman and diesel and the huge rudders so huge advantages over the norm. So much easier to move around the boat, whether docking or locking or simply anchored and trying to catch a fish or two. Best of luck with new adventures on your new boat.

Nice boat!
If you take B and B’s suggestion, I’m on Cumberland River (Lake Barkley) mile 49.5. Stop on by!

Few more pictures. Previous owner and builder at the helm. Interior is walnut and mahogany. Joy’s been oiling all the walnut.

Very practical and comfy/cozy, Marty. I was a bit worried when I saw William up for sale.
Looks like lots of wood for you to play with and improve.

NICE! Congrats Marty! You're giving me front porch envy. When does the ceiling fan go in?

Really nice! Is it a bit tough to find diesel fuel on the river?

I can answer that, not at all. Lots of places sell diesel on Kentucky Lake.

Wifey B: Perfect boat for your location, type boating, and physical condition. Happy for you and such a great example that one size doesn't fit all.
