I have a 2005 Cummins QSB 5.9 HO with the SmartCraft DieselView electronic display. As with many of these, the LCD is going bad and will soon be unreadable.
I have reviewed the options suggested by Seaboard Marine, but also have seen the much lower cost VesselView Mobile for $249 and my added iPad or iPhone for viewing data...this intrigues me
I would like to hear from anyone who may have installed this bluetooth option on their trawler, where the device may be a level or two away from their phone or iPad to learn if the signal travels through the machinery and decks without a problem
Also interested in how complex installation was, anything to be aware of (I need to check my SIM version on my engine), etc.
