For those of you whose eyes didn't totally glaze over with the topic I posted, I urge you to watch this almost hour long video. The video was created with a talk Marc Swenson - a historian - delivered at the Whatcom museum in 2014. You will be surprised at the interesting history of the area, the amusing economic facts of life in America (on an exclave) where 500 residents of the island supported 10,000 Greater Vancouverites entering so they could drink on Sundays and watch porn. You will be surprised by the music scene at PR.
I personally was surprised that I was one of the early users of the Pt. Roberts marina, I began going to it in 1977, the year it opened. I never realized it opened in 1977.
