The Estevan Group is west of Campania island and not far from Hartley Bay. This is Murray's neighborhood and I bet he's been in there. Access to inside the Group is via Gillespie Channel, on the southeast end of Trutch island. On the chart, Gillespie is marked by an entrance buoy and shows at least 3 fathoms at low water, but it's narrow with plenty of rocks. Douglass suggests slack-water transit the first time through based on current speed. Sailing Directions says it's passable with care. So.....has anyone been in there? We have anchored in Monkton inlet to the north, and then up Precipe channel to Petrel, but I'd like to try Estevan in the future.
