Turks And Caicos

We are toying with the idea of cruising as far as T&C next spring. Dropping some supplies off in Abaco, through Spanish Wells and Eleuthera and Cat and then down the east side of Long (to Clarence Town). Places we have been to before.

We want to avoid Exuma as we feel it will be more crowded than usual given the conditions in Abaco.

After that everything is new. From the charts it looks like Crooked and then Mayaguana before the hop to T&C, with no real services.

Has anyone done this? If so what are the anchorages like in Crooked and Mayaguana and can you hide from clocking winds?

All experiences gratefully received.

My friends' wife here on Andros recently took the school's Principle position in Mayaguana. It is desolate, to be frank. Mathew Town on Great Inagua has simple provisions and fuel but it is a bit out of your way. Throw in the possibility of seeing large flocks of flamingos on GI and it may be worth your stop, albeit off your track. A bucket list cruise for sure! Enjoy...
