Hot water pipes, 1991 55 CPMY

I have a friend with a 1991 Carver built 55' CPMY and he is have problems with the hot water piping. The cold water piping is a gray pex type plastic the same as I have on my 1986 48' MY but his hot water piping is a thin wall black plastic. Anyone else have this on their Carver built Californian? He has had leak problems with the hot water piping and all three of his toilets are fed with hot water. He has a hot water leak at the forward toilet and is not able to access the area. Floor construction is very different then my 86 model. Have any one run in to this problem and why did they run hot water to the head. When I was
living on Nantucket all the toilets had mixing valves so that the tank didn't have cold water and there fore no condensation but marine heads don't have tanks.
